Fabrizio Romano GUARANTEES: Chelsea CLOSE to sealing BLOCKBUSTER deal – Final talks underway!

Chelsea’s summer rebuild continues to gather pace, and while the club has already enjoyed a positive transfer window, the Blues are far from finished. With the Premier League season kicking off this weekend, there’s still time for one more statement signing — and Stamford Bridge insiders believe it could be a game-changer.

In just his second season at the helm, Enzo Maresca has already turned Chelsea into one of the Premier League’s most intriguing sides. Last year’s top-five finish, combined with Conference League and Club World Cup glory, has injected a surge of confidence into Cobham. The squad is buzzing, and some pundits are now whispering about a potential title push — if everything clicks perfectly.

Chelsea’s aggressive approach to the market has not only strengthened the squad but also showcased the club’s ability to sell surplus players for significant profit. That smart business has freed up funds, leaving room for at least one more marquee arrival before the window slams shut.

According to transfer oracle Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are deep in negotiations with RB Leipzig for Dutch playmaker Xavi Simons. The 21-year-old star is seen as a creative spark who could transform the Blues’ attack. Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, was emphatic:

“I’m told the situation with Xavi Simons is not changing! Chelsea are working on the deal, but there is still no agreement. I can guarantee they are still negotiating for Simons but have not agreed, so let’s see what’s going to happen.”

However, the deal is far from straightforward. Leipzig are holding firm on their €70 million (£61m) valuation, while Chelsea remain cautious about meeting that figure — especially for a player eager to leave and whose value could drop if he stays in Germany another season.

Adding extra tension to the saga, rumours are swirling that Manchester City are considering a late move to hijack the deal. With Pep Guardiola’s side in the mix, Chelsea will need to act quickly to avoid losing their prime target.

Despite the transfer uncertainty, Maresca is focused on harnessing the team’s momentum from last season. Speaking to the club’s official website, he described a “much better” atmosphere at the training ground and stressed the importance of carrying that energy into the new campaign.

“We need to start again in the way we finished last season. It was a strange end — something that’s never happened before — but we must adapt and be ready, game by game, day by day.”

With only a short preseason break after a grueling 64-game run, Chelsea’s preparation has been intense but precise. Two friendlies remain before they open their Premier League account — and fans are waiting to see if Xavi Simons will be wearing blue by then.
