Former Love Island star announces shocking news, revealing pregnancy photos after two years of silence

Sammy May James, a former star of ITV’s hit dating show Love Island, has sent fans into a frenzy with the heartwarming announcement of her pregnancy. The reality TV personality, who appeared as one of the Casa Amor bombshells two years ago, shared stunning new photos this week, proudly displaying her growing baby bump. Now based in Dubai, Sammy radiated joy as she posed in a chic black bikini paired with loose linen trousers, lovingly cradling her bump alongside her partner, Jamie Hannon.

In a glowing Instagram post, Sammy revealed she’s expecting a baby girl, captioning the sweet snaps, “Halfway to holding her.” The announcement follows her initial reveal last month, when she shared an emotional ultrasound photo and wrote, “Half of me, half of you – due January 2026.” The news has sparked an outpouring of love and excitement from fans, who have followed Sammy’s journey since her brief but memorable stint on Love Island.

Sammy’s time in the Love Island villa was short-lived. As one of the Casa Amor girls, she didn’t find a romantic connection and was sent home alongside fellow contestants Layla, Lydia, Cynthia, and Lynda. However, her story took a romantic turn off-screen when she met Jamie Hannon. The couple has since become inseparable, frequently sharing loved-up moments on social media, much to the delight of Sammy’s followers.

Reflecting on her Love Island experience during a 2023 Q&A, Sammy opened up about the surprising behind-the-scenes reality of the show. “Omg yes! Just how highly produced and edited the show is,” she admitted. “I wasn’t naive going in, I’m a switched-on girl. I knew this was the case, but you never fully understand until you see yourself.” Bound by her contract at the time, she hinted at more revelations to come, advising fans to “take everything with a pinch of salt” when watching the show.

Sammy’s joyful news comes amidst exciting updates for Love Island fans. The popular spin-off Love Island: All Stars, which brings back fan-favorite Islanders for another shot at love, has been confirmed for a third series set to air in early 2026. Filmed in South Africa, the upcoming season will run for six weeks, promising more drama, romance, and iconic moments. The show, which first launched in January 2024, has already won over audiences with its mix of nostalgia and fresh twists. The inaugural series saw Molly Smith and Tom Clare crowned winners, while Gabby Allen and Casey O’Gorman took the top spot in the second series.

Mike Spencer-Hayter, Creative Director at Lifted Talent, teased, “Love Island: All Stars has quickly established itself as a stand-alone hit, keeping fans gripped by iconic Islanders from the past 10 years returning for another chance to find love. You can expect the twists and turns to continue in series 3.” Amanda Stavri, Commissioning Editor at ITV, added, “With over 2 billion streams, the Love Island brand continues to thrive, and we can’t wait to bring back some of the viewers’ favorite Islanders for another unmissable series.”

As Sammy prepares to welcome her daughter in January 2026, her journey from the Love Island villa to impending motherhood has captivated fans. Her radiant pregnancy photos and heartfelt posts are a testament to her happiness, proving that sometimes the greatest love stories unfold far beyond the villa’s walls.
