Strictly Come Dancing’s Stefan Dennis has reassured fans that he is “good as gold” after illness forced him to sit out last weekend’s show.
The star of Neighbours had to miss Movie Week due to ill health, with doctors advising him to rest. However, he’s now back in the swing of things and made an appearance alongside his professional partner Dianne Buswell on The One Show on Wednesday (October 15).
When asked about his wellbeing, Stefan responded: “Good as gold.”
Presenter Vernon Kay pointed out that the duo were preparing for a Charleston this weekend, which he described as “probably the most difficult” dance on the BBC programme, reports the Mirror.

“Thanks for that!” Stefan quipped, joking that such comments didn’t exactly boost his confidence.
Despite this, he admitted that he was beginning to feel positive about the upcoming routine.
“It’s funny because, as I was saying to Dianne today, I said for the first time, I’m actually starting to feel really confident about doing the dance and actually wanting to do it because up until now, being a complete non-dancer, I’ve had fear,” the actor confessed.

“I’ve had fear of every single dance even though, you know, sometimes I’ve got a little bit right.”
Dianne revealed that rehearsals for this Saturday (October 18) were going “really good”.
“A little rocky Monday, but you know, as it goes on, he learns more and more about the dance and I think it’s going to be a good dance for us,” she added.

Strictly had shared a statement on Instagram last week confirming that Stefan would be unable to perform due to illness and that he and professional partner Dianne would progress directly to the next round of the BBC competition.
The statement read: “Due to illness over the past few days, Stefan Dennis has been advised to rest and, as a result, he will not dance this weekend.
“In line with the rules of Strictly, Stefan and Dianne will receive a bye through to next week, when they will hopefully be able to dance again.”
