THE TRAITOR IS REVEALED! A celebrity is brutally eliminated, leaving the cast in shock and fans going wild searching for the culprit.

The Celebrity Traitors returned on Thursday night and in the opening minutes one star was brutally murdered by the Traitors.

Traitors Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr and Cat Burns decided to kill off Ruth Codd after she went for Jonathan during the round table.

Discussing their decision, the TV presenter said: ‘Ruth is not going to let it go and I feel like the cloak is getting tighter round my neck.’

‘This could back fire on you’, said Cat. Jonathan replied, ‘If I was a Traitors I wouldn’t do it, why would I put myself in the firing line’.

Alan added: ‘Yeah lets get rid now before she poisons everyone’.

Walking into her room to find the letter killing her, Ruth said: ‘I knew this was coming’, before joking, ‘Jonathan and Kate Garraway are traitors!’

Traitors Jonathan Ross , Alan Carr and Cat Burns decided to kill off Ruth Codd after she went for Jonathan during the round table

‘I’m mentally extremely strong and I will miss the Faithfuls,’ she added.

The celebrities were left shocked and confused as the final stars Charlotte Church and Steven Fry arrived at the Scottish castle for breakfast.

Several of the stars looked around saying, ‘We’re missing Ruth, I don’t know what that means’.

Speaking to the camera, Jonathan admitted: ‘Yesterday I had a lot of heat on me so I have to be aware that people are going to be looking at me, I am worried’.

Meanwhile Joe Marler said: ‘I think there going to kill Ruth to make it look like Jonathan’.

Joe Wilkinson said: ‘I agree I don’t think it’s Jonathan’.

Ruth is the fifth celebrity to be kicked-off the hit BBC series leaving the three Traitors in power.

Fans rushed to X to say they are ‘absolutely gutted’ that Ruth was murdered while others said it was the ‘dumbest’ decision from the traitors.

Walking into her room to find the letter killing her, Ruth said: ‘I knew this was coming’, before joking, ‘Jonathan and Kate Garraway are traitors!’

They wrote: ‘Absolutely gutted. Loved Ruth; Ruth knew too much!

‘Surely killing Ruth off is the dumbest thing the traitors could have done; I’m genuinely so gutted about Ruth!

‘Absolutely gutted. Ruth was the best of the faithful; Massive mistake by The Traitors in murdering Ruth – Jonathan looks guilty as sin now. Ouch.’

Elsewhere in the show, things got heated once again around the round table as the stars voted for who they wanted to banish.

The first person to be banished from Celebrity Traitors was revealed on Wednesday night as the stars voted off Clare Balding.

Before leaving, she said: ‘I came in with one strategy and I’ve had the best time. I am and have been from the start a Faithful.’

Gutted, Stephen Fry said: ‘Oh my god how are we so useless, we’ve lost a great Faithful. What have we done’.

Charlotte Church added: ‘She was such a good Faithful’.

Jonathan said to the camera: ‘I’ve got to be the luckiest Traitor, the Faithfuls did our dirty work for us. Everyone’s going to be scratching away at each other now’.

Last week’s episode of the BBC competition ended on a dramatic cliffhanger at the round table.

The stars were in the middle of casting their votes to uncover who they thought the Traitor was – after Paloma Faith became the first to be ‘murdered’ in plain sight.

During Wednesday night’s episode, Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway ended up tied with YouTube star Niko Omilana, both receiving three votes and facing the first elimination of the series alongside Tameka Empson.

Ultimately, it was Niko who was sent home after his fellow contestants were convinced he was a Traitor.

Standing in front of his co-stars, he said: ‘First thing first, I can’t believe I’m out so quickly.

He continued: ‘But it’s been an honour getting to know every single one of you. You’re all great people.

‘I can now reveal that this whole time I’ve been honest… and I’m a faithful.’
