The Traitors has gifted us with some of the most unforgettable moments in reality TV history, but one moment from Celebrity Traitors episode three has set a new standard for iconic television. Celia Imrie, the beloved star, let rip a nervous – and hilariously relatable – fart in the cabin that has fans screaming for it to win the BAFTA television moment of the year. If it doesn’t take home the award, we might just have to stage a (playful) boycott of The Traitors series 4 – though let’s be real, we’d never abandon the civilian series or Love Island: All Stars, which carry us through the dreary January days.

Celia’s golden moment was, without a doubt, a cultural reset. But according to Traitors legends Diane Carson and Miles Asteri from series two, it wasn’t the first time a rogue toot disrupted the set. While discussing Celia’s legendary cabin fart on the SpIll the Fizz podcast, the besties dropped a bombshell about an even more explosive incident from their own series – one that didn’t make it to air.

Diane spilled the tea, recalling a moment at the Round Table during a tense voting session involving herself, Brian, and Ash. “The atmosphere was horrendous, and it went on for hours, that recording,” she said. “People had to leave the Round Table to go to the loo and whatever else. I was just sitting there, and basically, there was this fart. Oh my God, it was Jonny [Holloway]. I mean, the walls were rattling. Seriously, one of the cameras fell off. It was the loudest fart you have ever heard.”

Jonny Holloway, a 31-year-old veteran and former British Army engineer, was a Faithful in series two of The Traitors. Despite forming strong emotional bonds with players like winner Harry Clark, who admired him as a fellow Army veteran, Jonny was banished from the game after votes from other contestants. While his departure was emotional, it seems his undetected contribution to the Round Table chaos left an equally lasting impression – even if the producers chose to keep it under wraps.
As Shrek wisely said, “Better out than in.” And when it comes to Celia Imrie, that icon can do no wrong – whether it’s stealing the show or letting one slip. The Traitors set may never recover from these gas-tastic moments, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
