BREAKING: Eagles Plotting SHOCKING Raiders Trade – Philly in Talks to SWIPE a Star from Las Vegas in Franchise-Altering Move

The Philadelphia Eagles showcased a revitalized passing attack in their recent victory over the Minnesota Vikings, with quarterback Jalen Hurts delivering an outstanding performance. Completing 19 of 23 passes for 326 yards and three touchdowns, Hurts led the charge, supported by monster games from wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. The offense was clean, with zero turnovers, marking a significant step forward for a team looking to solidify its contender status.

However, despite the offensive resurgence, not all issues are resolved. The Eagles still need to ignite running back Saquon Barkley’s production, and their defense has shown vulnerabilities that require attention. With the NFL trade deadline approaching, Philadelphia is reportedly exploring bold moves to bolster its roster, and one intriguing proposal has emerged from The Philly Voice’s Jimmy Kempski: a trade for Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer.

Kempski suggests the Eagles could send a third-round draft pick to the Raiders in exchange for Mayer, a 24-year-old tight end whose future in Las Vegas appears uncertain due to the presence of rookie standout Brock Bowers, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury. With Philadelphia’s current tight end, Dallas Goedert, set to become a free agent in the upcoming offseason, acquiring Mayer could be a proactive move to secure the position long-term.

Mayer, a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, was initially pegged as a cornerstone of the Raiders’ offense. However, Las Vegas’ selection of Bowers in the first round of the 2024 draft has clouded Mayer’s role, making him a potential trade candidate. During his time at Notre Dame, Mayer displayed star potential, recording back-to-back 800-yard seasons to close out his college career. In his 2023 rookie season with the Raiders, he caught 27 passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns, and in 2025, he has added 12 receptions for 107 yards and a score.

At just 24 years old with one year remaining on his rookie contract, Mayer represents a cost-effective, high-upside option for the Eagles. Meanwhile, Goedert, now 30, has a history of injuries that casts doubt on his long-term reliability, making it unlikely Philadelphia will re-sign him in March. The Eagles’ abundance of draft capital—three third-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft—further sweetens the deal, as parting with one would not significantly dent their future plans.

A trade for Mayer could be a franchise-altering move for Philadelphia, providing a young, talented tight end to complement their dynamic offense while addressing a looming need at the position. As the trade deadline nears, all eyes will be on the Eagles to see if they pull the trigger on this blockbuster deal.
