He Got Absolutely BENCHED! The ‘Basic Human Right’ That Got A Celeb Traitors Star Ejected In Unaired Meltdown

In a jaw-dropping revelation that’s got fans buzzing, Ted Lasso star Nick Mohammed has spilled the beans on some explosive behind-the-scenes drama from Celebrity Traitors. The comedian, 45, dished that one of his fellow celeb contestants completely lost it—triggering an unaired meltdown that led to them being benched from the action— all over being denied what they called a “basic human right.”

With the nail-biting finale of Celebrity Traitors set to drop on Thursday night, Nick opened up about the intense isolation and mind games that come with the eerie BBC reality hit. Rubbing shoulders with heavyweights like Jonathan Ross, Kate Garraway, and Sir Stephen Fry, the cast was plunged into a world of secrecy and suspense in the shadowy Scottish castle.

Chatting on The Comedian’s Comedian Podcast with Stuart Goldsmith, Nick painted a vivid picture of the show’s draconian rules: “All your devices are taken from you. I was allowed one phone conversation a day with the kids. You are isolated from the outside world.”

But it gets even wilder. “We weren’t even allowed to know the time,” Nick revealed. “So when we were in the castle, you’d be like ‘What’s the time?’ And they’d be like ‘It’s Traitors time’.”

The quirky response was meant to keep the tension high, but it pushed one star over the edge. “Every single member of production had to just answer with that until someone kicked off,” Nick explained. “They said, ‘It’s a basic human right, you can just tell us the time, it doesn’t mean anything!'”

The outburst was so intense that it reportedly led to the celeb being sidelined in an unaired moment of chaos—proving just how razor-thin the line is between strategy and sanity on this cutthroat show. “They are so clever, but in the best possible way,” Nick added, giving props to the production team’s masterful manipulation.

Meanwhile, the Traitors universe is already gearing up for more. Chris Evans teased on Virgin Radio that BBC execs are hot on casting for series two, though he’s bowing out for now. Even Sir Gareth Southgate got the call to join but politely declined.

The star-studded lineup is vying for up to £100,000 for charity, with The Sun reporting that Gavin & Stacey’s Ruth Jones is in talks to jump aboard the next round. Expect around 15 million viewers to glue themselves to screens for tomorrow’s finale, where Traitors Alan Carr and singer Cat Burns face off against Faithfuls like ex-rugby pro Joe Marler, Nick himself, and historian David Olusoga.

So far, only one Traitor—chat show king Jonathan Ross—has been unmasked. The series has shattered records, becoming the year’s biggest TV phenomenon and outpacing even the civilian versions in ratings.

Post-finale, don’t miss the extended Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked on BBC Two and Sounds, where Ed Gamble grills the full cast, finalists, and host Claudia Winkleman on all the castle confessions.
