North London Shake-Up: Arsenal Stuns Football World with €60m “World-Class” Forward Bid as Second Target Gets €65m Price Tag

In a bold move that has sent shockwaves through the footballing landscape, Arsenal have tabled an opening €60million (£52m) bid for Real Madrid’s “world-class superstar” Rodrygo, while their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt’s rising star Nathaniel Brown comes with a hefty €65million (£57m) valuation. The Gunners are ramping up their ambitions to challenge for major honors, targeting elite talent to bolster their squad under sporting director Andrea Berta’s watchful eye.

Arsenal’s Ambitious Swoop for Rodrygo

Arsenal’s long-standing admiration for Rodrygo has finally materialized into concrete action. The North London club views the Brazilian forward as one of the premier attackers in global football, often overshadowed at the Bernabeu by the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior. Both Mbappe and Vinicius excel in cutting inside from the left flank, a role Rodrygo has also mastered, but Arsenal believe he deserves a starring role elsewhere.

According to reports from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arsenal have submitted a €60m offer for the 24-year-old, matched by a similar bid from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal. While Fichajes isn’t always the most reliable source in Spanish transfer journalism, the interest from Arsenal has been corroborated by more credible outlets like The Athletic, which confirmed the Gunners’ genuine pursuit.

Last summer, Arsenal made initial contact with Rodrygo but failed to lure him away from Madrid. Now, with fresh momentum, Berta is reportedly emphasizing a “leading role” for Rodrygo in Arsenal’s attack, positioning him as the spearhead in a team built to compete for every trophy. This pitch could prove enticing, especially amid claims from Sport that Rodrygo is “accelerating” his departure from Real Madrid, with the club allegedly placing him “on the market.”

Real Madrid are currently “analyzing” the proposals, but insiders suggest they would demand closer to €100m (£87m) to part ways with the player praised by teammate Luka Modric as a “world-class superstar.” Rodrygo’s versatility and proven track record make him a prime upgrade over Gabriel Martinelli in Arsenal’s eyes.

The competition doesn’t end there. Liverpool and Manchester City are also monitoring the situation, drawn to Rodrygo’s potential in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Al-Hilal’s interest stems from their desire to make a splashy signing to elevate the Saudi Pro League’s profile and attract new fans. A move to Saudi would offer Rodrygo lucrative wages, but at this stage of his career, a Premier League switch appears more probable.

Nathaniel Brown: The €65m Full-Back Sensation

Not content with just one high-profile target, Arsenal are also eyeing a defensive reinforcement in the form of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Nathaniel Brown. The 22-year-old left-back has caught the attention of top clubs with his blistering pace and attacking prowess, contributing one goal and five assists in 22 appearances this season.

German publication Bild reports that Frankfurt have slapped a €65m price tag on Brown, acknowledging the surging interest in their star. If sold at that figure, he would rank as the fourth-most expensive departure in the club’s history, trailing only Premier League exports Randal Kolo Muani, Hugo Ekitike, and Omar Marmoush.

Arsenal face stiff competition in a five-way race for Brown’s signature, with Manchester City, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and AC Milan all in the mix. Adding to the intrigue, TEAMtalk’s transfer correspondent Fraser Fletcher revealed in November that Manchester United are also involved, potentially broadening the battle even further.

Sources indicate a “gentleman’s agreement” could smooth Brown’s exit, possibly allowing a deal in the €45-55m (£39-48m) range—lower than Bild’s reported asking price. This flexibility might give Arsenal an edge as they seek a dynamic full-back to complement their high-pressing style.

What This Means for Arsenal’s Project

These pursuits underscore Arsenal’s determination to evolve into perennial title contenders. Rodrygo’s addition would inject world-class flair into their forward line, while Brown’s arrival could solidify the left flank with youthful energy and offensive contributions.

As the January transfer window heats up, all eyes will be on North London to see if these bids translate into signings. With Berta at the helm, Arsenal are signaling they’re ready to compete with Europe’s elite—not just on the pitch, but in the market too.
