Liverpool have pulled off one of the smartest deals of the summer, sealing the £35 million signing of Borussia Dortmund’s explosive Swedish sensation Daniel Svensson.
The 24-year-old has agreed personal terms and will put pen to paper on a long-term contract at Anfield, becoming Arne Slot’s first major arrival as the Reds prepare to defend their Premier League crown.

Dortmund didn’t want to sell. Svensson only signed a deal until 2029 last summer and had become a key part of their setup. But when Liverpool came calling with £35m and the chance to fulfil his “dream” of playing in the Premier League, the Yellow Wall had no choice.
Arsenal and Inter Milan were both circling, but the Reds moved decisively. Sporting director Richard Hughes and Slot himself were instrumental in getting the deal over the line quickly.
