BOMBSHELL IN ANFIELD: Liverpool announce brilliant deal and table biggest offer yet for second signing

Liverpool have delivered a major double boost to their long-term future at Anfield, starting with the official confirmation of Ryan Gravenberch‘s new long-term contract extension.

The Dutch midfielder, who has become a key figure in Arne Slot’s midfield since joining from Bayern Munich in 2023, has put pen to paper on a four-year extension — securing his future at the club until the summer of 2032. His previous deal was set to run until June 2028, but this new agreement rewards his impressive development and consistent performances, tying him down for the prime years of his career.

Speaking exclusively to Liverpool’s club media after signing, Gravenberch expressed his delight: “I feel really, really good. I was really proud to extend my contract at such a big club. So, I’m really happy that I can stay for many more years.

“I felt directly the trust from the club, also from the manager. The decision for me was easy to make. My family is also happy here. We are now here almost three years, so I know everything already. I’m happy that I’m here.”

The 23-year-old added that his short-term focus is on finishing the current season strongly, while his long-term ambition is clear: “For the short term, [my aim is to] end the season as good as possible. And for the long term: win many more trophies with Liverpool.

“I have a really nice relationship with [the fans]. Always when I do something good in the stadium I hear them singing my chant. I’m really grateful for the supporters because without them we would not be where we are now. In the future, we want to give them many more [trophies], so hopefully we can get that done.”

This contract renewal sends a strong message of stability and ambition from Liverpool, especially after avoiding the uncertainty seen with other stars in recent times.

And the good news doesn’t stop there. Our sources reveal that the Reds are now pushing hard on their next major deal, with centre-back Ibrahima Konate firmly in their sights.

The French international, a commanding presence in defence, has attracted long-term interest from elite clubs including Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Inter Milan. However, Liverpool are determined to fend off any suitors and have reportedly tabled their most lucrative contract offer yet to secure his long-term commitment.

While Konate’s representatives have fielded inquiries from across Europe, there is growing confidence inside Anfield that the defender will commit his future to the club. The Reds are eager to avoid a repeat of the Trent Alexander-Arnold situation, where the vice-captain ran down his contract before departing for Real Madrid last summer.

By locking down Gravenberch and making a big push for Konate, Liverpool are building a formidable core for the years ahead under Arne Slot. These developments underline the club’s proactive approach to squad planning and their desire to keep their key talents at Anfield.

Fans will be buzzing with optimism as the Reds continue to strengthen from within — a true bombshell double for the red half of Merseyside!
