The Philadelphia Eagles have once again made waves in the NFL Draft, securing a class of rookies that has analysts buzzing with excitement. With 10 selections in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Eagles appear to have struck gold, particularly with their sixth-round pick, offensive tackle Cameron Williams, who is being hailed as the “absolute steal” of the draft.
The Eagles kicked off the draft by turning heads with their first-round selection of linebacker Jihaad Campbell at No. 31. Widely regarded as a top-10 talent in this year’s draft class, Campbell’s slide to the end of the first round was a coup for Philadelphia. The team continued to build on this momentum in the second round, selecting safety Andrew Mukuba, a versatile defensive back drawing comparisons to Arizona Cardinals superstar Budda Baker. Mukuba’s ability to play multiple roles in the secondary makes him a likely candidate for significant playing time early in his career.

However, it’s the Eagles’ sixth-round pick, Cameron Williams, who has generated some of the loudest buzz. Selected 207th overall out of Texas, Williams was once projected as a first-round talent but slipped to the later rounds, much to the delight of Eagles general manager Howie Roseman. A To Z Sports’ Travis May called Williams the “absolute steal” of the draft, noting his standout performance at the Eagles’ rookie minicamp. “The Texas Longhorns sent a stacked class of prospects to the 2025 NFL Draft, and Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman couldn’t help but select two of them,” May wrote. “While Mukuba is the more obvious choice to earn significant snaps rather early given his versatility, Cameron Williams looks like an absolute steal at offensive tackle in the sixth round.”
The Eagles wasted no time securing their prized rookie, announcing Williams’ signing to a four-year rookie deal as Organized Team Activities (OTAs) kicked off on Tuesday. “The Eagles kicked off Organized Team Activities on Monday and continued to work behind the scenes to get the rookie class under contract,” the team stated. “Sixth-round pick Cameron Williams became the latest draftee to ink his four-year deal.”
Williams’ fall from a projected first-rounder to the sixth round raises the question: Did the Eagles just pull off one of the greatest draft heists in NFL history? His combination of size, athleticism, and technique, paired with Philadelphia’s strong track record of developing offensive linemen, suggests that Williams could become a cornerstone of the Eagles’ line for years to come. If he lives up to his potential, the Eagles may have found a diamond in the rough, making their 2025 draft class one for the history books.
