Teresa Giudice, the 53-year-old star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, didn’t hold back on the latest episode of her podcast, Turning the Tables, as she recounted a heated moment from a recent interview on Chicago’s WGN News. The reality TV icon, who appeared on the show to promote an upcoming local event, abruptly ended the interview after host Larry Potash blindsided her with a question about her past tax troubles—a topic her team had explicitly asked to avoid.
During the June 25 episode, Teresa revealed that the WGN staff had been “very nice” before the cameras rolled, assuring her team that certain topics, including her tax issues, were off-limits. However, she accused Potash of disregarding those boundaries, catching her off guard with what she called a “disrespectful” line of questioning. “Anytime I go on a TV show, my management makes it clear: ‘Don’t talk about this, don’t talk about that,’” Teresa explained. “They agreed to it, but this guy decided not to play by the rules.”

Reflecting on the moment, Teresa said she refused to give Potash the reaction he was fishing for. “I know he was trying to get a rise out of me, and I wasn’t going to give him that,” she stated firmly. After consulting with her legal team, she crafted a response to the incident: “The interviewer wasn’t respectful. His tone, the way he asked things—he crossed the line. He totally tried to derail the interview, and I was like, ‘I’m not doing this.’” Choosing composure over confrontation, Teresa ended the call, a decision she stands by. “At this point in my life, if I’m not happy with something, I just walk away,” she said. “I’d rather do that than give them the time of day.”
Teresa, who’s been in the reality TV spotlight for 18 years, also called out the WGN segment for painting her in a negative light. Before the interview, the show aired clips of her infamous table-flipping moment, which she felt set a hostile tone. “They showed me angry, flipping tables, reacting in an old way,” she said. “I’ve worked hard on myself, and I don’t want to respond like that anymore. I could see what they were trying to do.”
The reality star expressed gratitude for fans who “had her back” online, slamming Potash’s tactics as “unprofessional.” “He wanted his 15 minutes of fame,” Teresa quipped. “If he wants that, he should go on reality TV, not the news.” She also pointed out that Potash has a history of provocative interviews, citing a past segment with Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval, where he grilled Sandoval about the “Scandoval” drama. “There’s no need to attack people,” Teresa remarked. “Be nice in this world. It’s sad.”
Teresa also touched on a broader issue, claiming reality TV stars are often treated more harshly than other celebrities. “It’s so wrong,” she said. “I’m just doing my job.” Despite the drama, Teresa remains unfazed by the media frenzy that often surrounds her. “Everything about me always blows up,” she laughed, even giving a nod to TMZ, saying, “I like them, though. They’re cool.”
With her signature resilience, Teresa made it clear she’s learned to navigate the spotlight on her own terms. By walking away from the WGN interview, she proved she’s no longer the reactive star of yesteryear—she’s a woman in control, ready to set boundaries and stand her ground.
