Former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce and former Phillies slugger John Kruk have shared a lighthearted moment online, proving that Philly sports personalities know how to keep fans entertained.
The friendly exchange started when Kruk, who now works as a broadcaster for the Phillies, joked about borrowing Kelce’s now popular American flag Speedo.
The comment referred to Kelce’s viral appearance at the Eagles Autism Foundation fundraiser in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, where Kelce wore the patriotic swimwear during a charity event that raised over $1 million for autism research.
“You know, I was thinking about the swimming. I might have to reach out to my buddy Jason Kelce to see if I can borrow his American flag Speedo, because I didn’t bring any bathing suits here,” Kruk said during a segment shared by NBC Sports Philadelphia on Instagram.
Kelce saw the video and quickly joined in on the fun. Sharing the clip on his Instagram Story, he captioned it with a laughing response.
“Hahaha I’ll let you borrow it anytime Kruker!” he wrote, showing no hesitation in keeping the joke going.
Kelce’s Speedo became famous earlier this summer when he tore off his shorts in front of a roaring crowd at the Ocean Drive bar. He strutted through the packed venue wearing only the star-spangled swimwear, creating a viral moment that was widely shared on social media.
The outfit choice was part of a bet Kelce lost to his friend and former teammate, Beau Allen, during a three-month fitness challenge.
In a recent episode of his podcast, “New Heights,” which he co-hosts with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, the retired Eagles center explained the reason behind his daring look.

“The bet was loser has to wear a Speedo at this Ocean Drive event. And for those of you that remember, I didn’t think that was enough,” Kelce said, revealing he even added a bikini wax to the stakes of the bet.
The Eagles Autism Foundation event has become a significant part of the Kelce’s charitable work. The annual fundraiser, known as the Team 62 event, has raised more than $2.4 million since 2021.
Although there’s no word on whether Kruk will actually slip into Kelce’s star-spangled swimwear, moments like these keep the Philadelphia sports community connected and entertained.
