Love Island contestant Toni’s mum has spoken out about the latest villa shenanigans, confessing that the Meg and Dejon saga is starting to wear thin.
After friends and family dropped by the villa last week and voiced their concerns, the longest-running couple of the series appear to have hit a rocky patch.
Fans have been witnessing the pair’s relationship falter. Dejon’s been fretting over how viewers perceive him, while Meg’s mum and sister cautioned her about Dejon’s flirtatious nature.
Their apparent rift escalated to the point where, during Friday’s episode, Dejon suggested they sit in silence on what was meant to be their last romantic villa date night – a topic that got tongues wagging among viewers and even prompted a response from Toni’s mum.

American mum Leslie was a villa visit highlight and has since revealed on social media that she’s been hanging out with Shakira’s family behind the scenes, reports OK!.
Fans have been enjoying her episode-by-episode breakdowns. In her latest TikTok post, Leslie shared why she’s grown tired of Meg and Dejon’s antics.
Leslie stated: “I got to say the Meg and Dejon thing is getting a little exhausting to me. It’s just like they’re talking in circles and neither one of them wants to kind of come to a resolution on it…I just feel like Dejon, when the cameras are on, he is performing. I can’t help myself but feel that way. I feel his words are selected carefully.”
However, she was over the moon to see how Toni and Cach’s date unfolded. She confessed: “Toni got to be on the Terrace which is her favourite place, she enjoys spending time up there, she told me so when I was in the Villa.
“Cach putting that necklace on her and saying we’re exclusive now, which to me is so nice because we’re right here at the very end of it he didn’t have to do that at this point and he chose to so to see her happy with that sparkle in her eye just thrills me and for her to have such a nice tail end of this journey after having such a rocky road throughout a good portion of it, I think is wonderful.”
She couldn’t resist drawing comparisons between the other dates and Meg and Dejon, suggesting how he should have handled the situation: “Even Harry and Shakira were so cute, with her little hats. I thought that was adorable. But then you have Meg and Dejon on their last date and they can’t even enjoy it because they’re too busy talking about someone else and how it’s impacting their relationship and it baffles me that they keep going around in this circle. They’re not seeing like maybe this really isn’t working because Dejon all the flirting he did until there was no one left to flirt with.
“Meg’s feeling a bit wobbly and instead of giving her a boost, he just shuts her down. He could have put an end to it there and then by telling Meg she’s his top priority, that he asked her to be his girlfriend because he loves her. Meg would have been over the moon, they could have enjoyed the rest of their date and that would be that.
“But for some reason, they can’t seem to get that part of their relationship right at this point, but offering her a bit of reassurance. That’s what she’s after. At least, that’s what I’m seeing on my telly.”

Leslie also had a few words to say about the upcoming twist with all the ex-Islanders coming back for the second-to-last episode. She confessed it was something she knew was on the cards but added: “I don’t know why I hadn’t thought about it but seeing that Harrison is going back in there.
“My biggest hope was that Toni would never have to clap eyes on him again. Sadly, she will. And who’d want to see someone who did you dirty like that? Why would you ever want to see them again? So it’s a shame and of course we also have Blu making a comeback so Tone can’t catch a break.
“He just can’t seem to keep Toni’s name out of his gob. So I’m guessing when he gets to choose who he thinks should be booted off the island, that Toni would be his first choice, but maybe I’m wrong.”
