Strictly Come Dancing’s Stefan Dennis has assured fans that he is “good as gold” after he was forced to miss last weekend’s show because of illness.
The Neighbours actor had to skip Movie Week as he was unwell, with doctors advising him to rest. However, he is now back in training and he and pro partner Dianne Buswell made an appearance on The One Show on Wednesday (October 15).
Asked how he was doing, Stefan said: “Good as gold.”
Host Vernon Kay then noted that the pair were set to do a Charleston this weekend, which he said was “probably the most difficult” dance on the BBC show.

“Thanks for that!” Stefan joked, teasing that it didn’t do his confidence any good to hear that.
However, he revealed he was starting to feel good about the routine.
“It’s funny because, as I was saying to Dianne today, I said for the first time, I’m actually starting to feel really confident about doing the dance and actually wanting to do it because up until now, being a complete non-dancer, I’ve had fear,” the actor said.
“I’ve had fear of every single dance even though, you know, sometimes I’ve got a little bit right.”

Dianne said so far rehearsals for this Saturday (October 18) were going “really good”.
“A little rocky Monday, but you know, as it goes on, he learns more and more about the dance and I think it’s going to be a good dance for us,” she said.
Strictly had posted a message on Instagram last week explaining that Stefan would not be able to perform because he was unwell and that he and pro Dianne would be advancing straight through to the following week of the BBC competition.

The message read: “Due to illness over the past few days, Stefan Dennis has been advised to rest and, as a result, he will not dance this weekend.
“In line with the rules of Strictly, Stefan and Dianne will receive a bye through to next week, when they will hopefully be able to dance again.”
