AMBER GILL UNLOADS: Love Island Winner Slams Rylan’s ‘Shocking’ Comments On Immigration!

Love Island star Amber Gill has called out Rylan Clark for his “weird a** comments” about migrants.

In a video posted to her TikTok account yesterday (31 August), she addressed the comments TV personality Rylan made on This Morning about migrants and said they were ‘rightfully being put under fire’.

“Obviously Rylan is rightfully being put under fire for those weird a** comments he made,” the former Love Island winner said.

Following strong criticism for his remarks on immigration, which were aired on This Morning, Rylan has stepped down as a presenter of the ITV show. Amber continued to say that what made her laugh were the people who acted as though Rylan’s comments were unsurprising.

“One thing about this whole discussion that really makes me laugh is people being like ‘Are you surprised? Look who he’s friends with’ and it’s Rylan in a photo with this random white man.”

Though Amber did not name the person in the photo or share the picture, and instead said she did not know who the other man was, some commented on her video that the ‘random white man’ in question was Thomas Skinner. The Apprentice star will appear on the next season of Strictly Come Dancing and has been linked to right-wing politicians such as the Vice President of the USA, JD Vance.

The Love Island star is known for sharp comments, as during her season on the ITV2 dating show, she clashed with several other contestants due to her unfiltered opinions and sharp tongue. Though she was initially branded a “bully” by viewers, she was later crowned the winner. She has continued to give her unvarnished opinions on social media in the years since.

As Amber said in her video, Rylan has come under fire for his comments about migrants. The former X Factor star started by saying the UK was “built on immigration” and expressed his positive view of “legal immigration”, including his gratitude for the doctors and nurses that saved his mother’s life. But he went on to claim that asylum seekers are given iPads.

“Here’s the iPad. Here’s the NHS in reception of your hotel. Here’s three meals a day. Here’s a games room in the hotel. Have a lovely time and welcome.”

He continued: “There are people that have lived here all their lives that are struggling. They’re homeless. Let’s not even discuss our homeless. There are people living on the streets, veterans, all of this.”

After receiving widespread backlash from the public, Rylan doubled down on Instagram, in a statement which read: “You can be pro immigration and against illegal routes.”

The post was liked by several celebrities, including Rylan’s former This Morning co-host Josie Gibson and Thomas Skinner, who commented, “I’m so proud of you mate”.

However, Rylan has continued to receive criticism and, as such, stepped down from hosting This Morning.
