Bengals trade idea gets mention in 2025 NFL season bold predictions

The Cincinnati Bengals appear to feel good with the running back position ahead of training camp.

Behind Chase Brown this offseason, the team brought back Samaje Perine in free agency and re-worked the deal for Zack Moss, giving him a chance to compete over the summer. They also drafted Tahj Boyd later in the process.

Over at Sports Illustrated, though, Conor Orr names the Bengals as a team perhaps bound to be interested in New York Jets running back Breece Hall:

A handful of running back-needy teams—the Bengals, Chiefs, Texans and Cowboys—will get through camp and search to upgrade at the position, while the Jets will seek to pair Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis with a veteran still on the market who is looking to sign closer to the start of the regular season. Maybe Aaron Glenn’s former player, Jamaal Williams?

Hall has averaged 4.6 yards per carry with 14 touchdowns over three seasons as a pro, so there’s some value there. But the fact a former second-round pick on a so-so team would be available for trade might raise a few eyebrows.

As things stand now, barring injury, the Bengals are more than happy to spotlight Brown as the featured back, with Perine’s pass-blocking giving them a comfort level they didn’t enjoy last year.

That’s not to say the Bengals wouldn’t listen if the phone rings about a player like Hall, but running back finally feels properly addressed in Cincinnati for the first time in a few years.
