BOMBSHELL: WR Justin Jefferson’s reaction after ‘Frustrating’ the loss to the GREEN BAY in just FOUR words

MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Vikings fell to 5-6 on the season after a dismal 23-6 home loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, their third straight defeat and fourth in the last five games. In a performance marked by turnovers, offensive stagnation, and a battered rookie quarterback, star wide receiver Justin Jefferson didn’t hold back his emotions in the locker room afterward.

“We lost. Again. I hate to lose. I hate to be in this type of situation. I hate feeling the way we feel. I hate coming in this locker room, seeing the down faces and the down energy. So, we’ve just got to fix it and turn it around,” Jefferson told reporters, his voice laced with visible frustration.

The normally explosive Vikings offense managed just 189 total yards against a relentless Packers defense. Rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy, making his eighth start, completed only 12 of 19 passes for 87 yards, threw two interceptions, and was sacked five times. More than half of McCarthy’s passing yards — 48 — went to Jefferson on four receptions, underscoring how little the rest of the passing game contributed.

“It’s frustrating. It’s frustrating to lose. It’s frustrating to be up here, saying the same things every single week, expecting things to change the following week. And we’re still in the same spot. We’ve just got to figure it out,” Jefferson added.

The loss was compounded by yet another turnover from wide receiver Myles Price, who fumbled for the third time in the past three games, giving Green Bay possession deep in Minnesota territory.

Despite the struggles, Jefferson remains on pace for another productive individual season — he entered Week 12 with 783 receiving yards and five touchdowns through 10 games. Even in his injury-shortened 2023 campaign, when he missed seven games, Jefferson still eclipsed 1,000 yards. Yet the team’s 5-6 record and fading playoff hopes have clearly worn on the 26-year-old All-Pro, who was ranked No. 9 on the NFL’s Top 100 Players list coming into the year.

Head coach Kevin O’Connell acknowledged the mistakes but stopped short of criticizing McCarthy publicly, insisting the team would “clean things up” during the week and prepare for their next opponent, the Seattle Seahawks.

For Jefferson and the Vikings, the message is clear: the talent is there, but the results are not — and the clock is ticking to turn the season around.
