BREAKING: Cowboys on verge of adding a 1,510-yard beast – defenses won’t sleep tonight!

The Dallas Cowboys are aggressively reshaping their running back room this offseason, signaling a clear intent to dominate on the ground in the coming seasons. In a bold move, the team has added four new running backs to their roster, leaving no stone unturned in their quest for a lead back to anchor their offense.

Dallas kicked off the offseason by signing free agent running backs Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, bringing veteran experience and proven production to the backfield. Not stopping there, the Cowboys also drafted Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafah, injecting youth and potential into the mix. These additions reflect the team’s determination to rebuild a run game that has struggled to find consistency.

However, the Cowboys’ search for a true game-changer at running back may extend into the 2026 NFL Draft. According to Brentley Weissman of Pro Football Network, Dallas is projected to select Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love in his 2026 Mock Draft. Weissman didn’t mince words, stating, “The Cowboys currently have the weakest running back room in the NFL, and it’s not particularly close.” He believes Love could be the answer, describing him as “the best back in this class by a long shot.”

Love, a rising star for the Fighting Irish, has already racked up an impressive 1,510 yards and 18 touchdowns in 29 games, and his performance is only trending upward. With his rare combination of power, vision, and breakaway speed, Love is poised to be a Heisman finalist in the upcoming college football season. If he continues his trajectory, he could lead Notre Dame back to the College Football Playoff, cementing his status as one of the top running backs in the 2026 draft class.

Weissman emphasized the Cowboys’ historical success when leaning on a strong rushing attack: “This team has been at its best when they are able to run the rock and be physical upfront and allow Dak Prescott to win off of play action.” Love’s dynamic skill set could be the key to unlocking that formula, giving Dallas a versatile weapon capable of transforming their offense and keeping opposing defenses up at night.

While the Cowboys’ current running back additions provide depth and competition, the potential addition of Jeremiyah Love in 2026 could finally give Dallas the elite, game-breaking talent they’ve been searching for. As the team continues to build around Prescott, Love could be the missing piece to elevate the Cowboys back to contender status.
