BREAKING; Liverpool transfer news amid $115M ‘early move’ and Micky van de Ven claim

Liverpool transfer news as Arne Slot’s side is linked with an “early” move for a $115M forward and the latest claim regarding Spurs center-back Micky van de Ven emerges

Regardless of where Liverpool finishes this season, it will need to be active in the summer transfer market. Quite simply, there are multiple areas of its roster where work is required.

As things stand, Arne Slot’s team is lacking pace in attack, and Liverpool struggled to control the game against Galatasaray midweek, once again coming up against a familiar issue when it comes to a game descending into end-to-end chaos.

Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today. We start with a name becoming more familiar in these round-ups, with interest mounting around Europe.

Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig)

Liverpool is plotting an early move for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande this summer to get ahead of the competition. That is according to TeamTalk.

Diomande is valued at around $115 million (£87 million) and is also said to be of interest to the likes of PSG, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Arsenal and Manchester United have both previously been linked too.

At Anfield, there is a real need to inject some more pace into Slot’s attack. Liverpool would appear to have the greatest need for the attributes that Diomande has.

Liverpool.com says: Diomande is very young at 19, but he looks the real deal. Whoever it is, Liverpool simply has to add more speed and quality in wide areas when the season ends.

Micky van de Ven (Tottenham)

Liverpool has been told to make a cut-price move for Dutch defender Micky van de Ven this summer if Tottenham is relegated from the Premier League.

“It looks that way,” Jason McAteer said on the latest edition of the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, in partnership with BOYLE Sports, when asked if Van de Ven should be on Liverpool’s defensive incoming priorities in the summer.

“They missed out on Marc Guehi in the summer, and I was a little bit surprised that they let it go to the winter window to try and do the business.

“You always bring competition in then; other teams are looking for players in that position, and City have got there before Liverpool. I think they missed out on one there.

“Giovanni Leoni came in at the start of the season; obviously, he picked up the really bad injury, which has set him back, and we brought in Jeremy Jacquet as well.

“I know he’s not coming until next season, but he is quality, and they have spent a lot of money on him. He will be looking at playing in the team, but they do need another center-half.”
