Martin Kemp’s jungle journey came to an end on Thursday night as the Spandau Ballet legend, 64, became the sixth celebrity voted off I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! But it wasn’t his exit that got tongues wagging – it was what he said (and who he appeared to completely ignore) in his post-eviction interview.
Fresh from the famous bridge with Ant and Dec, Martin sat down for the traditional ITV social-media catch-up and was asked who he wanted to win. His answer? A very definitive “Tom.”

“Tom is the sweetest, kindest man,” Martin gushed about Celebs Go Dating star Tom Read Wilson. “He’s the only man I’ve ever met that will look you in the eyes and tell you he loves you.”
Cue instant uproar from viewers at home.
With two strong women – Emmerdale favourite Lisa Riley, 49, and EastEnders actress Shona McGarty, 34 – still very much in the running, fans quickly accused the bassist of a major snub.
“Er – or Queen of the Jungle?!” one furious viewer fired back under the clip.
“My thoughts exactly!” another agreed.
“Completely blanked the women, wow,” fumed a third.
Defenders were quick to jump in, pointing out that Martin had actually told Ant and Dec on the bridge that he wanted Shona to win overall. Many believe the social-media question was specifically “Who would you like to be King of the Jungle?” – meaning his praise for Tom wasn’t a dismissal of the ladies at all.
Still, the moment has already been dubbed Martin’s “fail moment” of the series, with the clip racking up thousands of heated comments overnight.
Away from the drama, Martin kept it real about jungle life, begging for “a bottle of fresh water” after weeks of drinking boiled creek water that “still tastes like creek.” His first luxury purchase when he gets home? “One of those Japanese toilets that washes your a**e.” Iconic.
With a brutal double elimination hitting camp tonight, six campmates will become four – and the two unlucky stars voted off will also miss out on the legendary Celebrity Cyclone trial. The remaining hopefuls battling it out are Shona McGarty, Jack Osbourne, Lisa Riley, Aitch, Angry Ginge, and Tom Read Wilson.
