CONFIRMED! Arsenal set to BANK a £30m TRANSFER WINDFALL as European giants make their move

Arsenal are poised to receive an unexpected financial boost this summer, with Serie A powerhouse Juventus reportedly plotting a £30million bid for defender Jakub Kiwior. The 26-year-old Poland international, currently on loan at FC Porto from the Gunners, has caught the eye with his impressive performances in Portugal — and that form has now sparked renewed interest from the Turin giants.

Kiwior joined Porto on a season-long loan in September 2025, a move designed to secure him regular first-team football after limited opportunities at the Emirates. The deal included an obligation to buy, meaning Porto are set to make the transfer permanent this summer for around £23million. Arsenal originally signed the versatile centre-back from Spezia in January 2023 for £21million, and the move to Porto was partly to accommodate the arrival of new signing Piero Hincapie.

However, the story doesn’t end there. Despite the impending permanent switch to Porto, Juventus have revived their long-standing interest in Kiwior, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport. Porto have reportedly set an asking price of £30million for the player, who can operate comfortably as a centre-back or on the left side of a four-man defence. Crucially, Arsenal included a sell-on clause in the original loan agreement, which would net them an additional £1.7million should Porto cash in on Kiwior so soon after buying him.

Kiwior has been a revelation in the Primeira Liga this season, starting 19 of Porto’s 22 league matches under manager Francesco Farioli. The Portuguese side currently top the table by seven points and have conceded just 10 goals, with Kiwior contributing to their defensive solidity — including a key role in their 17th clean sheet of the campaign. He partnered fellow Pole Jan Bednarek in a recent 3-0 win over Moreirense and is expected to feature in Thursday’s Europa League last-16 second leg against Stuttgart.

The defender’s versatility and experience make him an attractive target for Juventus, who see him as competition for former Bournemouth and Newcastle centre-back Lloyd Kelly in their backline. Kiwior himself has previous ties to Italy, having played for Spezia before his Arsenal move, and reports suggest he is keen on a return to Serie A.

Kiwior has been open about his decision to seek the loan move. In an interview with Laczy nas pilka, he revealed that he personally approached Mikel Arteta to request the temporary exit.

“The earlier conversation, when I asked for the loan, was more difficult,” Kiwior admitted. “I’d never done this before, but I felt the time had come to speak with him face to face. He understood me and supported me.

“As for Arsenal and Porto, league-wise, it might seem like a step back, but club-wise, it’s absolutely not. At Porto, I have what I lacked in London: regular playing time. I feel great here.”

For Arsenal, the potential £30million sale would represent a smart piece of business. After recouping their initial £21million investment through the Porto obligation, the sell-on clause adds a tidy profit without any further involvement. It’s a classic example of how loan moves with future clauses can pay dividends, especially when a player thrives elsewhere and attracts big-money interest.

Juventus’ pursuit adds another layer of intrigue to what was already shaping up as a straightforward permanent transfer to Porto. With the summer window approaching, all eyes will be on whether the Bianconeri can tempt Porto into a quick resale — and hand Arsenal that welcome £1.7million windfall in the process.
