Ex-Cowboys cornerback jailed following deadly U.S. 75 wreck – accused of causing brutal fatality!

On the morning of June 7, 2025, a devastating crash on U.S. Highway 75 in Dallas, Texas, claimed the life of a 27-year-old woman and led to the arrest of former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph Jr. The incident, which occurred around 5:39 a.m., has left the community in shock and sparked discussions about road safety and the consequences of driving while intoxicated (DWI).

Details of the Fatal Crash

According to reports from the Richardson Police Department, Kelvin Joseph Jr., 25, was involved in a collision with a motorcyclist on U.S. Highway 75. Authorities received a call from Joseph himself, reporting the crash. Upon arriving at the scene, police observed signs of intoxication during their interaction with Joseph. The collision resulted in the death of a 27-year-old female motorcyclist, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The tragic incident led to the temporary closure of the northbound lanes of U.S. 75, causing significant disruptions during the morning hours.

Joseph was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) and collision involving personal injury or death, a felony charge. The severity of the charges reflects the grave outcome of the crash and the alleged role of intoxication in the incident.

Kelvin Joseph’s Background

Kelvin Joseph Jr., a former second-round draft pick by the Dallas Cowboys in 2021, played for the team from 2021 to 2023. During his tenure with the Cowboys, he appeared in 26 games, contributing to the team’s defensive efforts. After his time in Dallas, Joseph was traded to the Miami Dolphins in August 2023 and also had brief stints with the Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts. Most recently, he played for the DC Defenders in the United Football League, appearing in nine games before his arrest, which occurred the day before the Defenders’ playoff game against St. Louis.

This is not the first time Joseph has been linked to legal issues. In April 2022, he was questioned by Dallas police in connection with a murder in Old East Dallas, though he was not charged, and the NFL did not suspend him for his involvement in that matter.

This isn’t the first time Joseph has found himself in trouble with the law. During his tenure with Dallas, he was a person of interest in a deadly shooting outside the OT Tavern Bar and Grill in Lower Greenville in March 2022. Joseph was cleared of any wrongdoing, although he was inside the vehicle where the shots were fired.
