Fans Left Stunned Witnessing Olivia Bowen’s Near-Death Labor – So Harrowing, No One Could Hold Back Their Tears!

In a heart-wrenching revelation that’s left fans reeling, TV star Olivia Bowen, 31, has opened up about the terrifying ordeal of her near-fatal labor while giving birth to her daughter Siena in August. Known for finding love with husband Alex on Love Island back in 2016, the couple’s journey into parenthood has been anything but smooth, and this latest chapter had viewers glued to their screens in shock and empathy.

During a recent episode of their show, Olivia bravely recounted her hopes for a gentler birth experience after the trauma of welcoming son Abel in 2022. But fate had other plans. Sensing something was gravely wrong, she was rushed to the emergency room by ambulance, where doctors diagnosed a severe bladder prolapse—a condition where the bladder drops from its normal position, potentially protruding from the vagina. What followed was a nightmare no mother should endure.

“I was really scared,” Olivia shared in an exclusive interview with The Sun. “It’s surgery, and it’s a big thing—it’s not the easy way out.” As baby Siena entered the world crying—a moment of pure beauty amid the chaos—Olivia began to feel dizzy. Alarms blared as nurses tracked her escalating blood loss: 1.5 liters, 1.6, 1.7… and climbing fast. Panic set in. “The fear sunk in really quickly; it was really scary,” she recalled, her voice breaking.

The scene escalated into pure horror. Olivia, fighting back tears on camera, described the chaos: “They started yelling ‘major hemorrhage’ across the surgery room—that’s all I remember.” Doctors rushed in and out, withholding details as she battled nausea and dizziness. Alex watched helplessly as the color drained from her face. “I remember thinking, ‘Don’t close your eyes,’ because I thought I’d pass out… or even worse.”

The stakes couldn’t have been higher. Olivia lost a staggering 2.8 liters of blood—nearly two-thirds of the body’s average 4.5 liters—bringing her perilously close to the edge. “To feel that you are that close to losing your life was very, very scary,” she admitted, her words resonating with raw vulnerability.

Yet, amid the terror, gratitude shone through. Olivia praised the NHS heroes who saved her life, calling their efforts “absolutely incredible.” Drugged and disoriented, she had dreamed of a natural birth, but the brush with death shifted her perspective entirely. “I wanted this natural birth, and then being medicated and going through that… it just made me not give a s**t what happened because I’m here, and she is here. I feel so lucky.”

Recovery, however, has been a grueling battle. With no strength left, Olivia can’t drive for six weeks and faces months of fatigue. “The amount of blood I lost—I haven’t got the energy to recover,” she explained. “The doctors said it will be three months until I feel like myself again.”

The emotional broadcast, as reported by The Daily Mail, sparked an outpouring of support on Instagram. Fans, many in tears themselves, flooded the comments with messages of admiration. One wrote: “Such a brave person, made me real emotional; Watched it and cried my eyes out! Such a beautiful family.” Another added: “You’re such a brave woman. Watching this episode was so emotional. It’s lovely to see you all so happy as a family of 4. Your positivity is unbelievable. Super woman.” A third shared: “I actually got teary watching Olivia in labor, as I felt her pain… a pain you never forget. @oliviadbowen you are the most amazing mum & one strong woman.”

Now, with two healthy, happy children, Olivia and Alex have firmly decided against expanding their family further. Their story is a powerful reminder of the fragility of life and the unbreakable strength of a mother’s love—one that’s left an indelible mark on everyone who witnessed it.
