Former teammate of Pickens claims this “hated genius” is actually the most feared WR in the NFL!

The Dallas Cowboys made a blockbuster move during the NFL offseason, acquiring star wide receiver George Pickens in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers. This addition pairs Pickens with CeeDee Lamb, forming one of the most formidable pass-catching duos in the league. However, questions linger about Pickens’ maturity, which reportedly caused friction during his time in Pittsburgh.

Former Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson, now with the rival New York Giants, offered insight into Pickens’ character during an appearance on the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast with NBA legend Carmelo Anthony. Having spent last season with Pickens, Wilson passionately defended the young receiver, calling him a “misunderstood” talent with the potential to be the world’s best.

“On a serious note: He’s misunderstood,” Wilson said. “He’s a guy who wants to be great… when it comes to George, I think a big part of him is his ability where he could take it from not just being great, but the world’s best. He has that in him.”

Pickens showcased his playmaking ability last season, recording 59 catches for 900 yards and three touchdowns. Over his tenure with the Steelers, he amassed 174 receptions for 2,841 yards and 12 touchdowns. Now, with a stable quarterback situation and CeeDee Lamb drawing defensive attention, Pickens is primed to elevate his game to new heights in Dallas.

The Cowboys’ bold trade signals their intent to dominate through the air, but Pickens’ success may hinge on his ability to channel his fiery passion into consistent performance. If Wilson’s prediction holds true, the NFL may soon witness the rise of its most feared wide receiver.
