GREEN BAY’S WEAPON WIPE-OUT: Jordan Jordan Left Stranded With Critically Depleted Arsenal for Brutal Browns Showdown.

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Packers are bracing for a daunting clash against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, but their offensive firepower is flickering. With standout receiver Jayden Reed already sidelined and tight end Tucker Kraft questionable due to a knee injury sustained at Thursday’s practice, quarterback Jordan Love faces the NFL’s top-ranked defense with a critically depleted arsenal.

A “Tweak Scare” for Kraft

Kraft’s injury, described by a source as a “tweak scare,” has left his status uncertain. “I don’t know yet,” Kraft said when asked if he could play. His potential absence would be a gut punch for an offense that relies on his versatility as a blocker, short-yardage gainer, and deep threat. Kraft has eight catches for 140 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Reed, out with a broken collarbone, contributed three catches for 45 yards and one touchdown in Week 1. Together, they account for 31.4 percent of the Packers’ receptions, 38.5 percent of the yards, and 75.0 percent of the touchdowns through two weeks.

Without these two dynamic playmakers, Love’s options are significantly limited against a Browns defense that leads the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game and per carry, anchored by All-Pro Myles Garrett.

Thin at Receiver

The Packers’ receiving corps is down to five healthy players: Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, Matthew Golden, Malik Heath, and Savion Williams. While capable, none have matched Reed’s explosiveness. Reed, a 2023 second-round pick, has four of the team’s eight 100-yard receiving games since his arrival, underscoring his importance. The absence of Christian Watson, still recovering from a torn ACL, further depletes the group’s big-play potential.

Tight End Depth Tested

If Kraft is limited or out, the tight end room will lean heavily on Luke Musgrave, John FitzPatrick, and potentially Ben Sims. Musgrave, a 2023 second-rounder, showed promise as a rookie before a kidney injury derailed his season. In 2024, an ankle injury requiring surgery cost him 10 games, limiting him to seven catches for 45 yards. This season, he has three catches for 36 yards, including a 23-yarder last week.

“Luke’s had as good a camp as I’ve seen,” said offensive passing game coordinator Jason Vrable. “He’s truly healthy. He’s been flying around.” Vrable highlighted Musgrave’s standout practice against Seattle, where he caught three passes over 20 yards, signaling his potential to step up. If Kraft is unavailable, Musgrave could seize the opportunity to reestablish himself as a premier tight end.

FitzPatrick, signed off Atlanta’s practice squad last year, has played nearly as many snaps as Musgrave (36 to 38) through Week 2. His physicality and reliability make him a candidate for an expanded role, especially against Cleveland’s stout front. “He’s a guy who will do every single job we ask him to do and he’s going to be physical and violent near the point of attack,” Vrable said.

Ben Sims, a healthy scratch so far this season, could see his first action. Having played all 34 games over his first two years, Sims brings experience, though his role has primarily been as a blocker.

Offensive Identity at Stake

The Packers’ offense thrives on versatility, with Kraft’s all-around skill set and Reed’s speed creating mismatches. Without them, coordinator Adam Stenavich remains confident in the depth. “I like our tight end room,” he said. “All the guys have played, so we’ll be able to figure out the best path forward.”

However, facing Cleveland’s elite defense without two of their top weapons is a tall order. The Browns’ ability to stifle the run will force Love to rely on his passing game, where the lack of proven playmakers could be exposed. Doubs and Wicks will need to step up, while Musgrave and FitzPatrick must deliver in both the passing and blocking game to keep Cleveland’s pass rush at bay.

No Replacing the Irreplaceable

Vrable was candid about the challenge: “I don’t think you replace guys in this league. They’re great players for a reason.” Still, he expressed confidence in the team’s preparation and culture. “You put a lot of pressure on your backups to get those reps… I truly have full confidence in whoever’s out there.”

For Jordan Love, Sunday’s showdown will test his ability to adapt with a patchwork supporting cast. The Packers’ system is designed to create explosive plays, but without Reed’s speed and Kraft’s versatility, Love will need to lean on his own playmaking ability and the grit of his backups to navigate Cleveland’s defensive gauntlet.

As the Packers prepare for this brutal matchup, the absence of key weapons leaves them vulnerable. Whether Musgrave, FitzPatrick, or the receiving corps can rise to the occasion will determine if Green Bay can overcome this wipe-out and keep their offense firing.
