The drama, rooted in a decades-old incident, has resurfaced with a vengeance, and Gretchen is setting the record straight, accusing Katie of spinning stories for clout and stirring the pot to secure her spot on the show.
The controversy stems from a rumor that Gretchen, 46, was allegedly drugged by co-star Tamra Judge, 57, during the infamous “naked wasted” episode of RHOC back in 2008. The rumor, which Gretchen claims was twisted and exaggerated, was reportedly spread by Katie, 41, to blogger Kiki Monique on Radio Andy. Gretchen admitted to being blindsided by the accusations, recalling a dinner from months earlier where the conversation first took place.
“We were at dinner—me, Katie, Jennifer Pedranti, Ryan Boyajian, and Matt Ginella—back in September or October,” Gretchen explained on the August 26 episode. “We spent three hours together, sharing a lot, and I opened up about the ‘naked wasted’ incident with Tamra. I told Katie how Tamra tried to get me drunk, and I felt so sick afterward that I probably should’ve gone to the hospital.”
Gretchen emphasized that her comments were about feeling ill, not about being drugged. But months later, she was stunned to hear that Katie had allegedly told Kiki that Gretchen accused Tamra of roofie-ing her. “I was like, ‘Wait, what?’ I couldn’t even comprehend it,” Gretchen said, visibly frustrated. “That’s not what I said.
