Isiah Pacheco sends clear 4-word message over his Kansas City Chiefs future on first official day back after injury

THE stars of the Kansas City Chiefs are starting to arrive at training camp.

Voluntary training camp opened up for the Chiefs this week, and the team’s key players showed up on Tuesday to get some early work in.

On Tuesday, Kansas City Chiefs stars began arriving at voluntary training camp, marking the start of the new season. Among them, running back Isiah Pacheco, who missed significant time in the 2024 season due to injury, drew attention with his enthusiastic return. Stepping into the training facility, Pacheco delivered a concise yet resolute four-word message to fans: “Back! Let’s get it!” he said.

Pacheco, a seventh-round pick by the Chiefs in the 2022 NFL Draft, faced a challenging 2024 season. He played only seven games, recording 310 rushing yards and one touchdown after suffering a broken fibula in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Following surgery and recovery, Pacheco returned in Week 13 but struggled to regain his prior form, averaging just 3.7 yards per carry compared to his career average of 4.5 yards. A late-season rib injury further hampered him, resulting in only 37 rushing yards during the playoffs.

However, head coach Andy Reid remains optimistic about Pacheco’s future. Reid stated, “I think he’s going to be even better this year. He pushed himself to come back when most people probably wouldn’t have.” Reid noted that while Pacheco was “still fast” upon his return, small details like his cutting ability were affected by the injury, but he believes Pacheco will soon return to his peak performance.

Chiefs fans have also shown strong support on social media, confident that Pacheco can reclaim his explosive form—having amassed 1,765 yards and 14 touchdowns in his first two seasons. With the addition of Kareem Hunt and Elijah Mitchell to the running back corps, the Chiefs are counting on Pacheco to lead the ground game in 2025, especially as the team aims to defend their title.

Now 26 years old, Pacheco is entering a pivotal contract year. His four-word message is not just a declaration of his return but a bold commitment to his future with the Chiefs. With the “Energizer Bunny” spirit that QB Patrick Mahomes once praised, Pacheco is ready to prove that last season’s setbacks were only temporary.
