Anna Williamson, the beloved relationship coach and presenter on E4’s Celebs Go Dating, is no stranger to guiding celebrities through the turbulent waters of love. At 44, happily married to fitness coach Alex Di Pasquale and a proud mother of two, Anna’s life now radiates contentment. But her journey to this blissful chapter was anything but straightforward, marked by a heart-wrenching breakup that forced her to confront a life-altering decision.

In an exclusive interview with OK!, Anna opened up about a pivotal moment in her early thirties when her world was turned upside down. At the time, she was deeply in love with a partner of five years, but their relationship hit a devastating crossroads. “I always knew I wanted to be a mum,” Anna shared, her voice tinged with reflection. “But my partner was clear from the start—he wasn’t sure about having kids. I hoped we’d find a middle ground, but it never came.”
The couple reached a breaking point when Anna, then 33, faced a gut-wrenching ultimatum: stay with the man she loved or walk away to pursue her dream of motherhood. “We had so much love for each other,” she recalled. “But after five years, we had to have that big, honest conversation. He finally admitted, ‘I can’t do this anymore. Kids aren’t part of my plan.’ It was devastating, but neither of us was wrong—it was just a fundamental difference.”

The breakup left Anna single, heartbroken, and grappling with the ticking clock of her fertility. As an agony aunt on This Morning and a presenter on Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, she was thriving professionally but felt “desperate” to start a family. Yet, instead of rushing into a rebound relationship, Anna chose empowerment through knowledge. “I could’ve easily picked the wrong partner just to check the ‘baby’ box,” she admitted. “But I see so many clients fall into that trap, and I wasn’t going to let fear dictate my future.”
Determined to take control, Anna underwent comprehensive fertility testing to understand her options. She explored her egg health, hormone levels, and possibilities like egg freezing, arming herself with data to make informed decisions. “Knowledge is power,” she emphasized. “We don’t talk enough about fertility, and that lack of conversation leaves people panicking. I didn’t want to choose a partner out of desperation—I wanted to make choices based on facts.”

Now a seasoned relationship coach on Celebs Go Dating, where she’s guided stars like Kerry Katona, Mark Labbett, and Gemma Collins, Anna stresses the importance of early, honest conversations about life goals. “I tell my clients to distinguish between their needs and wants,” she said. “If having kids is a need, you have to communicate that upfront. Avoiding those hard talks because ‘the relationship is good otherwise’ only sets you up for heartbreak later.”
Anna’s work extends beyond the screen. She’s partnered with FutureLife and CooperSurgical on the Let’s Talk Fertility campaign, addressing alarming statistics: over a third of UK adults find fertility an “uncomfortable” topic, and nearly half believe it should be taught in schools. Her mission is to destigmatize these discussions, especially for women who, she says, are too often “strung along” by partners unclear about their intentions.

Reflecting on her own journey, Anna celebrates figures like Gemma Collins, who is bravely documenting her fertility journey at 44 in the upcoming series Gemma Collins: Four Weddings And A Baby. “Gemma’s shining a spotlight on fertility after 40, and that’s huge,” Anna said. “There’s so much stigma, but it’s unwarranted. Fertility treatments are emotionally and physically demanding, and anyone taking that step deserves respect.”
Anna’s own fertility journey didn’t end with her breakup. After meeting and marrying Alex Di Pasquale, she welcomed son Vincenzo, now eight, and daughter Eleanora, five. Last year, contemplating a third child, she underwent another round of fertility tests. “The headlines scream that your eggs are ‘dust’ by my age,” she laughed. “But I was told my fertility is still strong. Knowing that empowers me to make choices—whether it’s pursuing another baby or not.”
Anna’s story is a testament to resilience, self-awareness, and the power of honest communication. From a painful breakup to building the family of her dreams, she’s living proof that facing hard truths can lead to a brighter future. As she continues to coach celebrities and clients alike, her message is clear: don’t shy away from the tough conversations—they just might save your heart.
