THE SHOCKING TRUTH: After successfully losing 40 pounds, ‘Love Is Blind’ star Anna Yuan was called ‘weird’ — and this is how she SHUT DOWN the critics with a single post.

Anna Yuan, a standout star from Season 9 of Netflix’s hit reality show Love Is Blind, has taken a bold stand against body shamers who targeted her remarkable 40-pound weight loss. The 28-year-old hairstylist, who captured hearts during her time on the show, recently clapped back at cruel comments about her appearance, delivering a powerful message via her Instagram Stories on Saturday.

“Reminder that it’s weird as f–k to message a person you don’t know to comment about their weight or physical appearance,” Yuan wrote, addressing the unsolicited remarks head-on. “Please, for the love of God touch grass!” Her sharp response highlighted her frustration with strangers feeling entitled to critique her body.

Yuan revealed she shed approximately 40 pounds since filming for Love Is Blind wrapped nearly two years ago. “It is not that deep and again you are WEIRD,” she added, emphasizing that her weight loss was a personal achievement, not an invitation for public scrutiny. This wasn’t the first time Yuan had to confront negativity. Following the Season 9 premiere on October 1, she addressed similar criticism, reminding fans of her humanity.

“Hi friends, reminder that I am human. A human who has devoted her life into a craft to make other women feel beautiful,” she wrote on her Instagram Story on October 2. “I have struggled with my weight since I was a little girl. For the first time in my life, I am proud of how healthy I am. I’m not a character. I’m a real human being just like you. Be kind. Love you all anyway.”

During her time on Love Is Blind, Yuan formed connections with contestants Patrick Suzuki and Blake Anderson while dating in the pods. However, she made the difficult decision to exit the show halfway through, citing discomfort with the vulnerability required for the cameras. “I started seeing myself being pretty vulnerable, and it scared me a little bit because this is an intimate part of my brain,” she shared in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum earlier this month. “These are very sensitive topics for me. It’s not that I’m just sharing it with whoever I’m dating or the other women — this is going to be broadcast for people.”

Yuan’s departure was abrupt, and she left without informing her connections, a decision she later regretted, particularly regarding Patrick Suzuki, her top connection on the show. In a reflective Instagram Story, she explained, “The only thing I cared about was hurting Patrick with how I exited the show and I deeply regretted that.” Since then, Yuan reached out privately to Suzuki to apologize, and the two have since built a meaningful friendship. “Although I’m grateful for this experience, this was filmed almost 2 years ago, and when I left, I wanted that chapter to come to a close,” she added.

Anna Yuan’s journey on Love Is Blind may have been cut short, but her resilience and unapologetic response to body shaming have cemented her as a powerful voice for self-love and kindness. Through her candid words, she’s reminded the world that behind the reality TV persona is a real person deserving of respect — and she’s not afraid to shut down the critics with a single post.
