Andy Robertson played his final game for Liverpool in their 1-1 draw with Brentford at Anfield following nine years and 378 appearances

Andy Robertson is reportedly poised to join Tottenham this summer after featuring in his final match for Liverpool on Sunday. Robertson joined Mohamed Salah in saying his goodbyes at Anfield following their 1-1 draw with Brentford on the last day of the Premier League season.
The Scotland international announced in April that he would follow Salah through the exit door at the end of the campaign. He has been at the club since arriving from Hull City in 2017 and will depart after nine years and 378 appearances for Liverpool.
Tottenham attempted to sign Robertson in January, but were unable to complete a deal. Liverpool were open to selling the 32-year-old before his contract ran out, and Robertson held discussions with Spurs, but he opted to stay put.
Nevertheless, there are reports stating he has ‘verbally agreed’ personal terms with Spurs, who are well-placed to finalise the transfer after avoiding the drop from the Premier League. Their 1-0 victory over Everton on Sunday proved sufficient to secure 17th place and condemn West Ham to relegation.
Robertson has stated he will now turn his attention to representing Scotland at the World Cup this summer, while also touching on the possibility of a future return to Liverpool.
“These guys come and support us every single week. I’ve been here nine years and we’ve played in front of a sellout crowd at Anfield and full away ends every game,” he told Sky Sports. Asked how he was feeling, Robertson added: “Emotionally drained. It’s been a busy week trying to keep your emotions in check and saying bye to those you need to say bye to.
“Pep Guardiola pushed us to new limits. We should have won more Premier Leagues if it wasn’t for that man. Seamus Coleman is leaving Everton and he’s been a fantastic servant for that football club.
“In years to come, then we know we’re both welcome back to this football club. This is a big chapter in our book but it’s not the end. First and foremost, we have to switch off and focus on the World Cup. I know this is our family and we’ll be welcome back.”
Robertson has been displaced by Milos Kerkez as Liverpool’s number one left-back choice, with the club having been open to offloading their experienced defender back in January. Unhappy at his limited playing time, he flirted with the idea of a mid-season switch to Spurs.
“There was obviously interest there – there were discussions had with both sets of clubs,” Robertson later explained. “But the decision was that I wanted to stay. We stayed at Liverpool and that was the decision made.”
