This Is WILD: Celtics Analyst Crosses The Line With Jaylen Brown Hairline Joke

In a moment that’s equal parts hilarious and ruthless, Boston Celtics commentator Drew Carter took a savage swipe at Jaylen Brown’s hairline during Wednesday’s broadcast against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The jab came hot on the heels of Brown’s viral embarrassment from last week, turning an already awkward situation into prime-time comedy gold.

It all started during the Celtics’ matchup with the New York Knicks on Friday, when Brown inadvertently rubbed what looked like spray-on hair product or dye onto Knicks defender OG Anunoby. The mishap left a glaring black streak on Anunoby’s pristine white jersey after Brown leaned his head against him. The clip exploded online, leaving fans in stitches and Brown admitting he was straight-up “cooked.” In response, the All-Star hopped on a Twitch stream to debut a fresh haircut, owning the moment with self-deprecating humor.

Fast-forward to Wednesday’s game, where Brown dazzled with a spinning, banked layup against the Cavs. Carter couldn’t resist piling on: “Went flying to the basket like he’ll be flying to Turkey at some point this season,” he quipped, slyly nodding to Turkey’s reputation as a hotspot for affordable hair transplants. Co-commentator Brian Scalabrine feigned shock, replying with a playful “Oh, come on,” as the broadcast crew cracked up.

Brown didn’t stop at just streaming his haircut. During the Twitch session, he left a cheeky voicemail for fellow NBA star LeBron James, who’s no stranger to hairline scrutiny himself. “Code Red. They caught me slippin’,” Brown said. “I need to know, Turkey or no Turkey? And I ain’t talking no cheese sandwich.” Classic.

The 28-year-old even jokingly blamed his hair woes on his decade-long tenure with the Celtics, who drafted him in 2016. “I blame Boston. Ten years of stress, the media, the championships. Y’all caused this,” he laughed, poking fun at the high-pressure environment in Beantown.

On the court, Brown’s stepping up big time this season, especially with superstar teammate Jayson Tatum sidelined by a ruptured Achilles. Through the first five games, Brown’s averaging a career-high 26.8 points per game, along with a personal-best 6.6 free throw attempts. Despite the early 2-3 start without Tatum, the Celtics flexed their muscle on Wednesday, dismantling the Cavs 125-105 in a dominant blowout.

Up next for Boston? A showdown with the Toronto Raptors on Friday. If Brown’s performance keeps soaring, who knows—maybe that Turkey trip can wait.
