I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has lost almost one million viewers a night since Sunday’s launch, with many taking to X to air their grievances with the
ITV show.
For the opening show a peak of 7.2 million viewers [average 6.7million] tuned in, which was also one million less than last year, but with nine percent more 16 to 34-year-olds tuning in.
On the lower viewing figures from last year, ITV sources told the Mail: ‘It’s all in the consolidated figures, Aitch and AngryGinge’s fans will not be sitting down to watch it live, Gen Z tend to watch on catch up.’
But what of the older viewership? Sunday night’s viewership figures dropped to a peak of 6.3million [average 5.7million] on Monday night followed by a further on million loss last night.
Tuesday’s overnight figures show just five million [average 4.4million] tuned in.
Yet these figures come after Monday night’s staggering voting numbers with 1.5million going on to the app leading to Gen Z campmate and rapper Aitch doing the Bushtucker trial.

I’m A Celeb has lost almost one million viewers a night since Sunday’s launch with many of the older generation taking to X to air their grievances with the ITV show

Aitch, 25, and Angry Ginge, 24, are this year’s Gen Z signings with 1.5million tuning in to vote them for Bushtucker Trials while older viewers report turning off
Fellow Gen Z star, Angry Ginge, was also voted to do the trial during the launch show by his fan base – the Twitch star boasts more than five million followers across social media.
It appears the younger generation are engaging with the show, while on X older viewers are complaining of ‘wiping I’m A Celeb from my schedule’.
ITV did not see the same drop last year as 7.7million tuned into the launch show and the next night, for the first episode, 7.1million tuned in.
One older viewer wrote: ‘I’m A Celeb is just a massive let down when it comes to the cast list, not like Traitors, just a bunch of people desperate to be a bit more famous.’
Another added: ‘I would like to watch I’m A Celeb but I don’t recognise half the people in there.’
While another older person said: ‘It’s only been on for three days and they have already started crying, watching them fake cry is very dull.
One person simply wrote: ‘I will not be coming back tomorrow.’

Older viewers on X, formerly known as Twitter, are reporting switching off the show

One woman called the show ‘dull’ after the campmates were reduced to tears after winning pictures of their family after a challenge on Tuesday night’s episode

Many viewers aid they were switching off because they did not recognise the celebrties on this year’s cast

Another branded the ITV show unwatchable
The blow is all the more bitter given the recent success of BBC rival The Celebrity Traitors.
A whopping 11 million people tuned in to see Alan Carr’s unexpected win earlier this month.
The addition of a celebrity version broke records, the opening episode alone attracting 6.5 million viewers, marking the biggest-ever launch for The Traitors in the UK.
The number tops all previous premieres, including the civilian series opener in January which garnered 5.4million views.
According to the BBC, the first episode peaked at 6.5 million views with 52.7 percent of households with their televisions switched on tuning in. The premiere averaged at 6.1 million views with a 46.4 percent share.
