Alan Carr, star of Celebrity Traitors, was left rather taken aback after discovering he had been “axed” from a TV show.
The comedian has been a familiar face on television for years, with appearances on shows such as The Friday Night Project, Alan Carr: Chatty Man and Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK.
Currently, he is participating in the BBC’s hit show Celebrity Traitors. The murder mystery gameshow first won over the nation when it aired in 2022, and has since returned stronger than ever.
Alan is joined by Stephen Fry, Clare Balding, Cat Burns and Lucy Richardson on the spin-off show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman.

On the show, the celebrities compete for the chance to win up to £100,000 for their chosen charities by trying to eliminate all of the Traitors in the iconic Scottish castle, reports the Daily Record.
However, Alan recently discovered that he had been ‘axed’ from one of his shows – and he wasn’t too pleased about it.
During a conversation with fellow comedian John Richardson on Alan’s podcast Life’s a Beach, John revealed that he would be spending his birthday filming Celebrity Bullseye.

“Who’s hosting that now? Because I used to host that,” Alan asked. John then replied: “Freddie Flintoff,” leaving Alan stunned.
Turning to the camera, he exclaimed: “I’ve been axed!”. John cringed awkwardly as he apologised, while Alan jokingly raged: “I did that! F*****g cheek. I used to do that. I’ve been axed!”.
Alan Carr continued: “What a way to find out. From my frenemy!” He was referring to his ITV series, ‘Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow’, which brought back classic game shows from yesteryears, including Bullseye.

John quipped: “You did all the quizzes, you tried to steal every TV quiz.” To which Alan responded: “Yeah ok I’ll let Fred do it.”
Currently, Alan is gracing our screens on the inaugural series of ‘Celebrity Traitors’ on BBC One. The television personality was selected as one of three Traitors by host Claudia Winkleman, alongside Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns.
It’s safe to say that the show has quickly become one of this year’s television highlights and a ratings hit. Since its launch earlier this month, the programme has attracted more than 11.7 million viewers.
