BREAKING: Liverpool star has ‘an agreement on everything’ with Tottenham

Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson is set to join Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer in the summer if the north London club manage to avoid relegation from the Premier League, according to multiple reports.

The Scottish international, who will depart Anfield when his contract expires at the end of the current season, has reportedly reached a full agreement with Tottenham over a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

TEAMtalk’s transfer insider Graeme Bailey first revealed on April 12 that Robertson and Spurs had an understanding in place for a 2026 summer switch. Fabrizio Romano has now backed up the story, confirming on his YouTube channel that “there is already, in this case, an agreement on everything between Robertson and Tottenham”, with the deal dependent on Tottenham retaining their Premier League status.

The 32-year-old left-back is understood to have held talks with Tottenham during the January transfer window, when the club explored the possibility of signing him mid-season. Newly-appointed Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi is said to be fully supportive of bringing the experienced Scotland international to the club.

While Celtic and Hull City have also shown interest in the defender, Tottenham appear to be at the front of the queue should they secure survival.

Not just Robertson: Senesi agreement also in place

Robertson is not the only high-profile free agent Tottenham have targeted with a contingent deal.

Sources have told TEAMtalk that Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi has also reached an agreement on personal terms with Spurs. The 28-year-old Argentina international will become a free agent at the end of the season when his contract with the Cherries expires.

However, like the Robertson deal, Senesi’s proposed move to Tottenham is strictly conditional on the club avoiding relegation to the Championship.

Fabrizio Romano provided further detail, stating that Tottenham are in “advanced negotiations” with Senesi, but nothing will be signed until the club’s Premier League future is confirmed.

“The conversation is very advanced,” Romano said, “but nothing will be signed until Tottenham know they will be in Championship or in Premier League… these two deals could be ‘here we go’ in case Tottenham stay in Premier League.”

Tottenham’s fight for survival

The deals highlight Tottenham’s determination to strengthen their squad on smart, low-cost deals if they remain in the top flight. Currently sitting third from bottom in the Premier League table with 31 points from 33 matches — just one point behind 17th-placed West Ham United (who have a game in hand) — Spurs face a tense final stretch of the season.

Avoiding relegation would allow manager Roberto De Zerbi to rebuild with the addition of proven Premier League performers such as Robertson, who brings leadership, attacking width and vast experience, and Senesi, a ball-playing centre-back who has shown his quality in the English top flight.

Should Tottenham fail to stay up, both players are likely to attract interest from other clubs. Barcelona are understood to be monitoring Senesi as a potential alternative to Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni, while Robertson would not be short of suitors given his pedigree.

For now, all eyes remain on Tottenham’s remaining fixtures. If the club can secure their Premier League status, fans could soon be welcoming two experienced, high-quality free agents through the gates of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

The coming weeks will be decisive — both for Tottenham’s survival hopes and for the futures of Robertson and Senesi.
