BREAKING: Liverpool to BLOCK vital star’s exit amid Real Madrid links with crucial talks ‘progressing’

Liverpool have no intention of letting Dominik Szoboszlai leave Anfield this summer and will firmly block any attempt from Real Madrid to sign the Hungarian midfielder, despite ongoing speculation linking him with a move to the Spanish giants.

Talks over a new long-term contract for the 25-year-old are advancing positively, with the club prepared to hand him a significant pay rise in recognition of his growing importance to the team.

Szoboszlai has been one of the standout performers in what has been an inconsistent season for Arne Slot’s side, emerging as a genuine leader and match-winner. The attacking midfielder has registered an impressive 10 goals and 7 assists in 35 appearances across all competitions so far this campaign.

Even when Liverpool’s form has dipped, Szoboszlai has remained a consistent bright spark, stepping up admirably in different roles – including filling in at right-back when required – to underline his status as one of the Reds’ most vital assets.

Sources close to the club have confirmed that Liverpool are eager to tie their star man down to a bumper new deal that reflects his influence within the squad. The club are willing to meet all of Szoboszlai’s demands and are relaxed and confident about the outcome of the negotiations.

The Hungary international is currently contracted until 2028 after signing a five-year deal when he joined from RB Leipzig in 2023. Liverpool believe they are in a position of real strength at the negotiating table and insiders at Anfield are confident that Szoboszlai will put pen to paper on fresh terms before the start of next season.

While the club are fully aware of Real Madrid’s interest – and understand it has been a lifelong ambition for Szoboszlai, as confirmed recently by his national team manager Marco Rossi – their stance remains “firm, unwavering and backed by the hierarchy at every level.” Liverpool have no plans whatsoever to cash in on the player this summer.

Szoboszlai’s agent, Matyas Esterhazy, has also played down the links with the La Liga club, describing them as “completely normal” and insisting his client remains fully focused on life at Anfield.

For now, the message from Liverpool is crystal clear: Dominik Szoboszlai is going nowhere. The club fully expect him to remain a central figure as they reshape the squad ahead of the new campaign.
