CHELSEA, LISTEN UP: Troy Deeney Just Revealed the ONE Move That Can Unlock Semenyo’s Inner BEAST.

Troy Deeney has suggested Chelsea as a potential suitor for Bournemouth’s in-form forward Antoine Semenyo.

Even though Chelsea are already stacked with several wingers, Semenyo is an intriguing name to throw into the mix.

The 25-year-old Bournemouth wide man has been in sensational form so far during the 2025-26 campaign. In seven Premier League appearances, he’s already scored six goals and provided three assists.

Back in March, reports claimed that Semenyo was a ‘massive’ target for Chelsea. The Ghana international has been on the rise for the past couple of seasons in the Premier League, so perhaps it is only a matter of time before one of the elite clubs snap him up.

Sky Sports reports that Bournemouth have a £70m valuation on Semenyo, who signed a new five-year contract in the summer. Elsewhere, talkSPORT adds that there is a release clause in the new deal.

Troy Deeney suggests Chelsea for Antoine Semenyo

According to Troy Deeney, Bournemouth star Semenyo could actually be a great fit at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea.

When asked which club should be looking at signing Semenyo, Deeney told talkSPORT (17 October): “I like him at Chelsea… I’d play him off the right and put Estevao on the left because that’s an area you’re not really sure about. I think at 18 years old he’s going to be a wonderkid. You could just let him go do what he needs to do on that left hand side.”

Of course, Semenyo is the type of profile that Chelsea fans could get excited about if they rekindle their interest and push hard to sign him. The versatile winger, who’s comfortable off the left or right, definitely has shades of a young Sadio Mane.

However, the Blues should be focused on their existing wingers before looking for an upgrade.

Estevao Willian, Pedro Neto, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrique George and Jamie Gittens are first-team players at Chelsea vying for two starting spots on the wing.

Chelsea wanted to recruit a right-footed winger during the summer when Semenyo was linked. Well, they did just that with Garnacho and Gittens, so surely the club can’t give up on the pair so quickly.

Don’t play Estevao Willian on the left

Deeney’s suggestion for Chelsea to use Estevao, 18, on the left wing feels a bit rogue.

So far, the Brazilian talent has looked very impressive in the Blues first team, making the transition to English football look pretty effortless. We’re certain that supporters will be hoping he’s in line for plenty more minutes as the season progresses.

As we’ve seen so far, the left-footed trickster is extremely dangerous cutting infield from the right wing. Alternatively, he can be effective and creative drifting into central number 10 pockets.

The idea of shifting the teenager over to the left flank feels completely unnecessary.
