THE WAIT IS OVER: Arsenal set Jesus asking price amid transfer interest

Arsenal have drawn a line under the uncertainty surrounding Gabriel Jesus by informing interested clubs that the Brazilian striker is available for around £20 million this summer.

The Gunners have already received enquiries for the 29-year-old forward and are prepared to listen to offers as they look to reshape their attacking department ahead of the new season. The decision marks a significant shift in Jesus’s status at the Emirates Stadium, where his long-term future has been the subject of growing speculation.

Jesus’s campaign has been defined by frustration following a serious knee ligament injury suffered earlier this year. Although he made his return to action in December, the former Manchester City star has found it difficult to reclaim his place in Mikel Arteta’s starting XI.

In total, Jesus has made 27 appearances across all competitions since his comeback, scoring six goals. However, he has started just three Premier League matches this season, finding himself behind both Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz in Arsenal’s attacking hierarchy.

The £20 million valuation reflects Arsenal’s willingness to facilitate a departure while still recouping a reasonable fee for a player who has shown flashes of quality when fit. At 29, Jesus remains a technically gifted forward capable of playing across the front line, but consistent game time has been hard to come by under Arteta’s demanding system.

With Arsenal aiming to strengthen their squad and increase competition in key areas, the potential sale of Jesus would free up funds and squad space as the club continues to fine-tune its squad for another tilt at major honours.

Whether a club is willing to meet the £20 million asking price remains to be seen, but the message from Arsenal is now clear: the wait for a resolution to Gabriel Jesus’s future is finally over.
